[ARPil] Day 12 of 30 – Tinkering

Rakuno doing some tinkering in the Deus Ex Arcana Guild Hall

This post is part of The 30 Days or ARPil event created by Pizza Maid of Pizzamaid.moe. You can find more information about it in here and the 30 questions here. If you are interested on seeing who is participating on the event, there is a block to the right with all blogs that are part of it too. Let me know if I forgot someone or put someone in there by mistake. 🙂

All my answers  will be about my character Rakuno, my ratonga monk in Everquest 2. From this point on it will be him doing all the talk!

Question 12: How is your character with technology? Super savvy, or way behind the times? Letters or email?

If by technology you mean tinkering then I consider myself pretty proficient with it. It all started when I saw a gnome selling some cheap tinkered toys on the street. It picked my interest so I bought some, brought them home then I disassembled and assembled them back. I kept doing that until I could do it without thinking. Some days later I went to buy more of his toys, ones that looked a bit more complex. Once more I went through the process of taking them apart to see how they worked and putting them back together. That went on until I knew exactly how all of his toys worked.

My next step was to move to actual schematics. First the ones sold at the Butcherblock Docks. Another gnome acquaintance suggested that I started there as the schematics were more simple. One by one I bought the schematics and mastered them. Then I moved on to Gnomeland Security Headquarters where they sell more the more advanced ones. You can guess what happened next. After all that I can probably even invent my own tinkered machines now. But I don’t have much free time for that so I am just happy to buy schematics from other people’s inventions and play with those.
