This post is part of The 30 Days or ARPil event created by Pizza Maid of Pizzamaid.moe. You can find more information about it in here and the 30 questions here. If you are interested on seeing who is participating on the event, there is a block to the right with all blogs that are part of it too. Let me know if I forgot someone or put someone in there by mistake. 🙂
All my answers will be about my character Rakuno, my ratonga monk in Everquest 2. From this point on it will be him doing all the talk!
Question 17: What’s your character’s desk/workspace look like? Are they neat or messy?
My carpentry shop is pretty bare. It only contains my woodworking tables plus the tools I use for my trade on one corner. On another I keep my tinkering table for when I have some free time and want to do something to relax. I also have a desk nearby to write down orders, receipts, make annotations for my tinkering hobby or to put down anything else that is don’t want to forget.
I try to keep the whole place clean both for the sake of the clients and because it is the right thing to do. The exception is my desk which tends to be rather messy with annotations, working orders and whatever else paper I had in hand and needed a place to put at. Other small stuff end up there too until I figure where I want to place it. That can take days. For outsiders this can look like a lack of organization but I can always find what I am looking for. Granted, it is not super fast like someone that is very organized but it works for me.
Now if you want to annoy me a good way to do that is to try to organize my desk. Even if you come with the perfect organization system and explain it to me, it will actually take me more time to find all my things. Plus it will go back to being messy in a pretty short time anyway. Like I said, it is not perfect, nor even pretty, but it works for me.
