Last time on Vampire: the Masquerade Bloodlines... we end up destroying some vampires involved in a crazy cult in order to protect the Masquerade. Well, we also did it to get some brownie points with the anarchs and score a reward from Strauss.
This time we'll finish the sidequests in Downtown before we go do another job for fancy pants Lacroix.
SPOILER WARNING! Don't read beyond this point if you care about spoilers. If you don't or already has played this game then just go ahead.
Last time on Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines: we finished what was left of the side quests in Santa Monica. We stole some blood, started an investigation on a Masquerade breach, helped out a very excitable ghoul and even went gave a hand (pun completely intended) with a investigation for a bail bonds office. Now we shall go back to the main story!
SPOILER WARNING: spoilers ahead for the story of this game. Proceed only if this doesn't bother or you already finished this game. Or some other motivation that I can't imagine right now.
Last time on Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines... We had to go through a lot of hoops to get to our goal. For instance: deal with a haunted house, destroy artwork, get shot at by some mooks and even discovering some deep family secrets we had absolutely no business finding out.
Before we continue on with the main story though I decided to do some side quests. There are two reasons for it 1) They are pretty entertaining and 2) Good rewards.
So that is what we'll be doing in this and the next post.
SPOILER WARNING! Spoilers for some of the side stories of Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines ahead! Read it at your own risk!
Last time in this series we learned how vampires are born, how they survive in the modern nights and dealt with some drug dealers. The last one is just so it wasn't all about vampires. Well, not directly anyway.
This time we get back to dealing with some spooky things and some not-so spooky ones.
SPOILER WARNING: this post will spoil most of the story for the first chapter of this game.
Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines (VtMB, for short from this point forward) probably has one of the best introductions/tutorials in game. It sets the mood right, teaches what you need to know and even hints at some of the things you will have to deal later in the game.
In this post we'll go through that. I don't think my writing will live up to the actual cutscenes but I will try my best. I will add in the first mission of the game too just so it doesn't end up a giant wall of text describing concepts of the game.
Oh, and in case you missed, here is my introduction post for this game and Let's Play.
Since it is October, it seems like an appropriate time to start on a Let's Play of one of my favorite games of all time: Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines.
If you never heard about this game, the short of it, is that it is an RPG based on the tabletop RPG called Vampire: the Masquerade. In Bloodlines we play a fresh created vampire, in the modern day world, that gets caught up into a power play between some older vampires.
