The Minecraft Logs #10: Building all the factories!

Well, okay, it wasn’t all of them. Just all of the essential ones to make my life in Minecraft easier: generators for andesite, iron and gold. The last two were generators that I have been meaning to build since I installed the Create mod months ago but due to the lack of brass I couldn’t make them immediately. Then I was finally able to make brass ingots, took a break and next thing I know it is some months later and here I am playing the game again!

Of course, they weren’t the main reason I installed Create in the first place but they were an important part of it.

Anyway, before we get to any of that we need to backtrack a little so I can explain how I finally got to this point.

Orangutan thinking. Image source is Wikimedia Commons: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Orangutan_thinking.jpg

Krikket recently came up with an interesting thought experiment that you can pretty much guess what it is about by the title alone. There isn’t really any rules about it except an “unspoken” one that all the answers to these questions only have to last for a year. But since that would be too easy for me I will go with the assumption that it would last for a life time just to have some weight to the answers.

Unnecessary to say I don’t intend to follow on any of these answers. It is a thought experiment after all. It would only be something that I’d do if there was some divine force making me choose one of these options and having to follow through with it.

Anyway that is enough of a preamble. Let’s get on with these questions.

[XCom 2] Operation Iron God

In the interest of honesty, I meant to write this post much earlier in the week. But then I decided to play juuuust a little bit of Minecraft. Next thing I knew it was Friday and I still haven’t written the post. Oops!

Story of my life right there!

Consequently this post was made in a rush and has not been edited. Sorry about that!

Anyway, in case you are just stumbling on it, this is part of a XCom 2 Succession game where a bunch of bloggers each take a turn at the game and hope we don’t end up losing the war against the aliens. Losing soldiers along the way though, specially the ones who are named after a blogger, is completely optional and even encouraged by some.

This event is being hosted by Naithin, of Time to Loot. You can find more information about it, the list of participants and their turns here.

EDIT: Forgot to add that this is post #4 for Blaugust 2021!

The Minecraft Logs #9: An attempt was made

A giant crater in Minecraft

When I last made a post about Minecraft (back at March! Yikes!) I was frustrated because my attempts to add a basement to the house I got were not working that well. So I decided to try to make my own house from scratch. My thinking was this way I could build it to my exact needs instead of trying to force someone else’s design to it.

My plan at the time was to make a post whenever I finished said attempt. Well, I did start on it however I got frustrated again because like usual my attempt was turning out to look more like an alien pretending to build a human house than anything else.

Because of that I decided to take a break and come back later… except I got distracted by other games and only now have been getting an itch to play Minecraft again. Ooops!
