Games I’ve been playing – October 2022

A screenshot from Blue Archive Abydo's story. In the middle there is a drawing of Ayane looking angry and flipping a table. On the foreground there are Nonomi and Hoshino. Nonomi is saying "Ahhh! Ayane is in berserk mode! Everyone take cover!"

With the grip that Minecraft had on my mind being forcefully removed, my intention was to spend the rest of the month finishing some games that have been on my to do list forever.

Unfortunately that didn’t happen. The only game I managed to finish was Y’s Origin, with the Hugo route. That leaves only the third route left to play to be completely done with the game (unless I get insane and try to go for some achievements). But for now this game goes back to the proverbial virtual shelf.

What I did end up doing instead was to start some new games… Because of course my mind would want to do that! /sigh

Games I’ve been playing – September 2022

Chen Gong from Fate Grand Order saying: There is no problem that can't be solved with an explosion which is why our victory is assured!

Sorry for the late post. To be honest I haven’t been in the best mental state lately. Plus I decided that instead of writing I wanted to play Minecraft instead.

Speaking of which, besides Fate Grand Order, Minecraft was pretty much the only game I played in September. I did intent to play some other games and demos but that never happened. Maybe in October it will be different. Or maybe I will just play more Minecraft again.

Anyway, let’s get to the meat of the post itself!

Games I’ve been playing – August 2022

Avicebron saying "It is not a doll! It is a golem..."

August was another month that was almost dominated by one game: Minecraft. The only reason it wasn’t completely dominated by it is because, ironically enough, I had to take a break from it to play something else completely different: Ys Origin.

Playing Ys Origin is also increasing my itch to play some other games, particularly of the japanese variety and ones I have stopped midway too. For now I am resisting it but once I finish this playthrough I will probably delve again into one of those.

Anyway, here is a summary of my game time in August:

The medieval oak townhall for Mine Colonies at level 1

This post is one day late because I decided to spend the day yesterday recharging. Sunday my group started testing Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Soulbound. I had lots of fun but it was still a social event and as a huge introvert it still drained some of my energy. Thus the need for resting.

As far as video-games are concerned though, there wasn’t that much variety. Not that it is necessarily a bad thing but it does make for short posts.

So here is what I have been up to in terms of playing:

Games I’ve been playing – June 2022

It is very rare for me to be able to focus in one big game for a month or longer. Usually ADD kicks in somewhere along the way and I end up playing something else. Only to return to the game years later, when I already forgot everything about it!

This can be rather annoying as it obviously makes it hard to continue. Restarting from the start also feels demotivating as I might just go through the same problem again. So when I have one of these moments when I focus on just one game from start to finish it is a bliss!

Anyways, this is what I have been up to, game-wise.

Games I’ve been playing – May 2022

The month of May certainly felt more packed with games to play than usual. At least for me. It also feels like it affected my perception of time. The majority of the month didn’t seem to go that fast until the end of it where it suddenly felt like time was going too fast. Although maybe that might be just the realization that we got to the middle of the year rather than the games I played.

Oh, one thing I forgot to mention last month. I decided to leave the XCom 2 Succession game. Honestly I wanted to see it through the end as it was quite a different experience to play the game with other people like this. However since I am thinking of deleting the blog I thought it was best to leave it now as I don’t know what my final decision about it will be or when the succession game will end. If anyone wants to see how it continues, just check the page for it over Time to Loot.

Now back to our usual business.

Games I’ve Been Playing – March and April 2022

For a while now I’ve been thinking about stop blogging. To be honest the itch to write isn’t as strong anymore as it was when I started. Since that is pretty much the only reason for me to write then I doesn’t make sense to keep going if I don’t feel like it.

I haven’t quite decided yet what I will do and whatever decision I end up making there are a few posts I’d like to finish first. So until at least those are out I will keep business as usual here.

Anyway, since I didn’t make my regular games played report last month I will just do a write-up for both months on this post. Hopefully I didn’t forget any game… :p

Games I’ve been playing – February 2022

February was another month where weirdly enough it felt like it lasted almost forever. Honestly, I would be fine if the rest of the year felt like this. It is certainly better than the last few years where it felt like I just blinked and the month was over.

As for the games, not as many variety as I wished for but not that bad either. So let’s get to them!

Games I’ve been playing – January 2022

The month of January felt surprisingly long. I honestly don’t remember when was the last time I played these many games and wasn’t just puttering for 10 minutes in each one.

On the other hand this wasn’t exactly planned. It was just my usual case of ADD kicking in and going “Oh, yeah, there is that game I used to play. I guess I will play it again for a little bit…”

Whatever the case may be I don’t have any regrets about what I played this month!

Games I’ve been playing – November 2021

A villager that sells armor

It is almost hard to believe that it is December already. I am not ready for the year to end! AAAAAH!

Anyway, November was almost one of those “MUST PLAY ALL THE GAMES!” kind of month. I’d like to say that didn’t happen because I got into a couple of very time consuming games but the truth is my heart just wasn’t into those other games.

It was just my rational mind that told me I should play other games for a reason or another. But every time I thought about playing them I just didn’t feel like it. Consequently I didn’t play more games as I’d rather not force it and sour the experience.

But enough rambling for now. These are the actual games I’ve been playing recently:
