Games I’ve been playing – October 2022

A screenshot from Blue Archive Abydo's story. In the middle there is a drawing of Ayane looking angry and flipping a table. On the foreground there are Nonomi and Hoshino. Nonomi is saying "Ahhh! Ayane is in berserk mode! Everyone take cover!"

With the grip that Minecraft had on my mind being forcefully removed, my intention was to spend the rest of the month finishing some games that have been on my to do list forever.

Unfortunately that didn’t happen. The only game I managed to finish was Y’s Origin, with the Hugo route. That leaves only the third route left to play to be completely done with the game (unless I get insane and try to go for some achievements). But for now this game goes back to the proverbial virtual shelf.

What I did end up doing instead was to start some new games… Because of course my mind would want to do that! /sigh

Games I’ve been Playing – July 2021

During most of the month of July I had this funky mood where I didn’t really feel like playing games… or do much of anything. This time, what I found entertaining was to read the Pathfinder 2e Core Rules book, something I’ve been meaning to do for a while.

For people who do not play TTRPGs the idea of reading a book of rules like that may seem boring but I like to delve into new interesting systems and see how they achieve their goals. In the case of Pathfinder 2e I think it does an excellent job of being a game about heroic pseudo-medieval, everything and the kitchen-sink, kind of fantasy. I’d even go as far as to say it is my new favorite for that kind of genre.

Anyway, I did play some video-games this month, not many as I’d like but enough to make this regular monthly post. And those are the ones I will talk about!

P.S.: Blaugust has started and this is my post #1 for it. If you never heard of it, you can read all about it here. The TL;DR version is that it is a kind of challenge/celebration of blogging kind of event for both new bloggers and veterans alike.

Challenge is not for me

This is post #2 for Blaugust 2019

There was a post in Dating Sims in the Holodeck about high difficulty in games. The gist of it is that they play games for entertainment and a harder difficult in games gives them opposite sensation. This has been so bad before that they abandoned games before due to a sudden spike in difficulty.

This made me think a bit about the topic, enough that putting everything in a single comment would be too much so time to write it all down here!
